"A PLACE WHERE CHILDREN DON'T DO WHAT THEY WANT, BUT WANT WHAT THEY DO. »
CLAPARÈDE
ABOUT US
Early childhood, a center of common interest which brought Nicolas and Nadège together. Their ambition around education and the contribution to young children made it possible to give birth to a small institution which has grown into a big one ... After years of reflection in the field and experience, La Petite Ecole Les Tulipiers is today the subtle fruit of a place of learning and benevolence that helps each child develop in preschool.
This place is permeated with specialists in early childhood from 0 to 5 years old. This institution is private and French-speaking and has chosen to welcome children from 2 to 5 years old in restricted hours. The operating permit was issued by the SASAJ (Day care authorization and monitoring service) and the place remains in close collaboration with this service.

A SCHOOL IS ABOVE ALL A MATTER OF PEDAGOGY.
WITH US, IT IS ABOUT AN ACTIVE AND DIFFERENTIATED PEDAGOGY! THE CHILD IS THE ACTOR OF HIS LEARNING THROUGH REFLECTION, CONSTRUCTION, PLAY, WHILE ARTICULATING GROUP ACTIVITIES AND INDIVIDUALIZED WORK.

The Educator
Not a master, not an instructor, a guide whose mission is to set up and facilitate learning. He is personally involved in providing knowledge.
It is through his sharing, his curiosity, his desire, that children follow him on the paths of discovery and wonder. The important thing is to give the child access to the pleasure of understanding.
By respecting the individuality and the rhythm of each one because each child is unique and advances at his own rate of development, it is essential to take time for each one, to adapt to his sensitivity, to his capacities.
A game to play, to reassure yourself, to have fun. But also the game that gives meaning that is created through interactions with peers and with the educator. Play is the child's job.
MEANS
To learn in groups and individually, precise operating rules are needed.
Thanks to a structured framework and rituals that give children daily reference points. In order to be amazed, interested, understand, think, grow, they need themes that give meaning to the year and that are declined by month, week, day, which pushes to grow and to emancipate.
a day's schedule
To think of "learning activities" it seems undeniable to us to include them in an ordinary day which respects the rhythm of the young child. This is why meals, treatments and moments of rest are an integral part of a day at La Petite Ecole Les Tulipiers. They are reflected as key moments. Sharing a meal together and observing what you eat IS an activity in itself.
The schedule of our short day is therefore ideal for a good capacity to receive learning

TEAM WORK
Thinking that nothing has an impact on children is obviously wrong because the adult that we are stems from the child that we have been. We are very vigilant to the adult-child interactions of our team members.
La Petite Ecole Les Tulipiers is constantly training adults for a course or a professional project. Beside this, committed professional people have a benevolent educational attitude to hold in order
to be able to put our pedagogy into practice.
Professionals are constantly evolving (conferences, training, interviews, projects). To carry out our educational project, we have acquired a number of supervisory staff above current standards.

« The child is not built FOR the adult but BY the adult »
Nad Ege Rudant
Director - Field Educator
Educator of young children since 2000 (School of Childhood Educator in Geneva), Nadège worked for 8 years in public institutions (nurseries, kindergarten) then bought in 2007 a small place and completely reorganize the spaces and the pedagogy to make it a place of life in its image.
This place will become big with the merger, 5 years later, with Nicolas.
Putting particular emphasis on respect for each child's own identity, it starts from the principle that the pleasure and interest in the child, aroused by the educator's enthusiasm, are much more powerful learning triggers than all regulations.
She believes that enriching the game and staying in touch with the needs of groups of children is the key to the job. Passionate about her work, which she describes as a vocation, she works extensively on the role of adults working with young children.
This is why she is a trainer in the field.
Nicolas Rudant
Co-Director - Field Educator
Educator of young children since 2005 (Higher School of Childhood Educator in Geneva), Nicolas worked in various public places until 2012 while getting involved in the educational reflection of La Petite Ecole Les Tulipiers.
In 2012 he merged with Nadège in order to imagine a bigger place that could respond to the active method they are keen to apply. From his first training in interior design and architecture, he kept a deep sense of circulation and projects and the great place was born ... Nicolas has the strength to give life to children's ideas, from the simplest to the more complex, in ephemeral constructions in volume which animate and give meaning to the group's learning.
Enriched by his reflections, observations and research work, he is constantly in search of the development and upliftment of each child. He is also a temporary teacher at the Higher School of Childhood Educator
and trainer in the field.
USEFUL INFORMATIONS
SCHEDULE
In order to have a positive impact on group dynamics, it took several years and experiences for the duo to find the right schedule for such a particular location. Short days, which contain all the necessary elements without exhausting the children, allow for cohesion in the groups that grow together and therefore teachings that are more easily transmitted. The Wednesday break allows the children to be in their family environment and to recharge their batteries.
